Job Description

Sony AI is looking for a highly motivated, self-driven individual with experience in AI and Machine Learning and robotics to provide programming and technical support for a team of reinforcement learning/robotics researchers as part of our flagship project on robotic manipulation in the food domain.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Implement code to support research being done in reinforcement learning
• Examples:
• Identify and deploy drivers for control of various robots
• Implement data passing/data storage for robot agents
• Integrate existing replay buffer libraries or write a custom replay buffer
• Implementation of reinforcement learning algorithms
• Carry out experiments at the direction of the research team

Qualifications:

• Required:
• Fluent in Python
• BSc or MSc in Computer Science (New grads welcome)
• Experience training machine learning models
• Basic knowledge of networking
• Hands on experience working with robots
• Experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS1 & ROS2)
• Experience writing drivers/interfaces for robot control
• Excellent oral and written English. Japanese language skills are a plus, but not necessary.
• Must be a team player. We need someone who sees the success of the team as their primary goal.
