Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and self-motivated Project Manager who loves taking challenges in fast-paced environments. In this position, you will collaborate closely with AI privacy and security research scientists, engineers, and various high-impact business units across the Sony group to drive multiple AI privacy and security initiatives. This role encompasses both technical program management and general project management responsibilities, adapting as required to ensure successful outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with team leaders, scientists, engineers, and business units to clearly define the scope and responsibilities of relevant parties in advance of launch
• Design, optimize, and streamline technical workflows for multiple projects
• Collaborate with research, engineering, and partnership teams to deliver solutions in a dynamic and fast-paced setting
• Allocate cross-team resources to tasks based on their areas of expertise
• Conduct day-to-day project management, including progress tracking, coordination tasks, project documentation, progress reports to stakeholders
• Assist with quick landing and commercialization of research projects

Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

• Ability to respond strategically and adaptively to rapid changes, considering the potential impact on project requirements.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage in globally distributed team settings.
• Strong systematic approach to documentation, file management, and version control.
• Extensive experience in creating and implementing project plans, charters, and schedules.
• Proficiency in Project Management software such as Confluence, GitHub, Jira, Monday.com, Microsoft Projects, Wrike, Notion, etc.
• Knowledge and experience with large foundation model development, computer vision, and AI privacy and security algorithms.
• Native-level proficiency in written and spoken English; business-level Japanese (equivalent to JLPT N2 and higher) is a significant advantage.
• Bachelor (or above) degree with minimum 3 years of experience in project management, business administration, computer science, software engineering, or equivalent real-world experience.
