As a leader in the team, you will manage a high-performing team of software engineers and lead teams for delivering software solutions towards the Camera roadmap across a range of Rivian vehicles.

Responsibilities

• As the Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for providing technical leadership and hands-on contribution to software development and engineering.
• Lead a strong team of Software engineers, domain experts and QA camera engineers aligned with multiple programs and platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple software engineering, integration teams and algorithms teams.
• Responsible for defining the Embedded Software architecture and design with consideration for tradeoffs required to deliver scalable end-to-end software stack across various compute engines.
• Demonstrate strong delivery skills using Agile methodologies and working efficiently with cross-functional teams across various work groups.
• Building a high-performing team that is engaged, cohesive, and responsive. Set clear objectives and challenge the team to aim for higher objectives.
• Build a culture focused on speed and agility, avoiding silos and focusing outward on the customer.

Qualifications

• Preferred a master’s degree in an Engineering field.
• 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• 2+ years of experience leading an Engineering team.
• Experience maintaining a roadmap, estimating schedules, and writing software development and test plans.
• Experience recruiting and leading extraordinary engineering teams spanning diverse technical focus.
• Experience working with multiple compute engines and heterogeneous computing systems ( CPU / GPU / DSP / etc.).
• Excellent proficiency in working with C or C++
• Hands-on experience with at least one RTOS (QNX, ThreadX, FreeRtos etc) and Linux.
• Hands-on experience working with Embedded Systems and Multimedia pipelines (Camera/Video/Audio/Graphics).
• Experience with best-in-class Engineering practices, technical documentation, design/architecting, and code reviews.
• Familiarity with Computer Vision is a plus.
• Passion for Imaging/photography/CV is a plus (but not necessary).
