Job Description

Rivian internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the internship term with an expected graduation date between 2024 through 2026.

This role is a part of our Co-Op Program. In order to be considered, you must be able to work full time for either Cohort A or Cohort B.

Cohort A: January - August 2024

Cohort B: May - December 2024

Responsibilities

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Aid in the development of Internal Machine Vision standards
• Aid in the software architecture for Machine Vision systems
• Aid in Testing new machine vision sensors and technologies
• Help do onsite evaluations of machine vision applications.
• Assist in developing and building a system based on object detection and classification using Yolov5 or Yolov8, and OpenCV.
• Leverage Python for machine learning (vision) to process, analyze, and interpret complex datasets.
• Test and fine-tune the developed models to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Participate in code reviews, demonstrating good coding practices, and maintaining code quality.
• Use Git for version control in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Must be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters, or PhD degree at an accredited university 
• Actively pursuing a degree or one closely related in Computer Science or Data Science

• Proficiency in Python and one of C/C++/C# languages.
• Experience with OpenCV and YOLOv5 for object detection and classification.
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent understanding of machine learning algorithms and principles.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS.
• Experience with Docker or other container technologies

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships: The range of pay for internships is 25.00-51.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law. 

Rivian provides robust wellness benefits, and a medical insurance package for interns, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
