The Camera, Imaging and Computer Vision team delivers intelligent vision & imaging technologies and features underlying Rivian’s adventure user experiences. This multi-disciplinary team architects, designs, develops and productizes state-of-the art algorithms and SW stacks on various compute platforms and system architectures. As a Camera Imaging Engineering Intern, you will have a unique opportunity to research and develop computer vision, deep learning and image processing algorithms for vehicle security and driver assistance with mentorship and help from world-class researchers and engineers at Rivian.

Responsibilities

  • Study image quality issues observed in both the lab and in the field with actual vehicles.
  • Correlate the image quality effects to performance of our use cases in computer vision, deep learning and driver assistance.
  • Work on end-to-end process of developing deep learning and traditional image processing algorithms including data engineering, model training, optimization, validation and deployment to vehicles.
  • Collaborate with platform software engineers to co-optimize algorithms and software implementation on SoC.

Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in a MS or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related degree from an accredited University or College at the time of the internship or equivalent experience in related field required.
  • Experience with coding in one of Matlab, C/C++ or Python.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Solid understanding of image processing, machine learning and neural network architectures.
  • Familiarity with industry standard frameworks such as OpenCL, OpenCV, OpenGL and OpenVX.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems and execute in a face-paced environment.
  • Track record of innovative thinking as evidenced by patents and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Experience with image processing systems including multi-camera systems and low-light/IR camera systems.
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills.
  • Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Colorado Based Applicants: The range of pay for internships is 25.00-51.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law.
