Role Summary

In this role you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers in the development and implementation of embedded software solutions for automotive applications and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in embedded software development, with a deep understanding of C++, Linux, and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) platforms. While an automotive background is not required, a solid understanding of the automotive industry and its related technical challenges is a plus. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers specializing in Embedded Applications and Infrastructure, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of embedded software solutions for automotive applications and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program management, to define project requirements, specifications, and timelines for successful project execution.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Drive the optimization and performance enhancement of embedded systems, identifying and resolving technical challenges and issues.
  • Manage project schedules, resource allocation, and budgetary constraints to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in embedded software technology, identifying and implementing relevant technological advancements to enhance product performance and competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with the program management team to define project roadmaps and strategies based on market trends and customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded software development, with a strong emphasis on C++, Linux, and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) platforms.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team of engineers in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycles, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of hardware-software integration and debugging processes in embedded systems.
