Job Role: Senior Data Architect

Location: Remote

Role Summary

Topcoder is seeking a Data Architect to join our enterprise data team. We’re redesigning and rebuilding our internal data solution to enable reporting, analytics, and modeling for the business. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in dimensional and tabular data modeling, coupled with a solid understanding of data lakehouse architecture. This role will be responsible for working with business and technical stakeholders to create new and modify existing data structures in support of the organization’s data analytics objectives. In addition, this role will provide advisory on data architecture design best practices and help lead the management of the data program at Topcoder.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data.
• Evaluate and optimize existing database systems to improve performance and scalability.
• Lead the architectural design and support for our data lakehouse infrastructure.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in database administration, including data backup, recovery, and scaling.
• Work closely with data engineers and analysts to ensure optimal data delivery architecture.
• Advise on the implementation of AWS services to optimize the data tech stack.
• Develop and maintain visualizations and reports using Power BI.

• Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to understand and prioritize data needs.
• Mentor and guide junior data professionals.

Qualification and Skills:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Data Architect or similar role.
• Expertise in dimensional and tabular data modeling techniques.
• Strong experience with AWS data services and Power BI.
• Knowledge of data lakehouse architecture principles and practices.
• Familiarity with the gig worker sector and the unique data challenges and opportunities it presents.
• Desirable: Experience with data product management.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven experience in managing large datasets and turning them into actionable insights.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
