The Role

The Power Systems Engineer will work with a global team responsible to design and implement Power Systems Network Analytics and other Smart Grid solutions to fulfil requirements of Transmission & Distribution Network operators and whole system operators using PowerFactory, Python and Machine learning & statistical algorithms and other solutions.

The Engineer also contributes to research and development of innovative solutions using machine learning, deep learning, RPA for global utilities to address operational & commercial challenges efficiently and effectively in their journey towards zero or low carbon economy

Responsibilities

  • Gather, understand and clarify complex business requirements.
  • Create scalable and manageable designs and implement complex enterprise integrations with industry standard technologies, utilizing Red Hat Integration and Red Hat OpenShift
  • Implement RHI to solve mission-critical business challenges.
  • Provide demonstrations to clients throughout the entire project life cycle.
  • Assist clients in identifying other opportunities in which the Red Hat platform could provide a solution.
  • Build or provide integration and automation between services.
  • Automate measurement of developer productivity
  • Promote a culture of metrics-driven engineering to improve code and feature coverage for higher-quality offerings.
  • Automate production monitoring, real-time production log verification, and anomaly detection.
  • Guide and support testing as a key component of engineering, including understanding of quality assurance (QA) methodologies, life cycle, and processes.
  • Ensure test coverage and successful execution of unit, integration, acceptance, system, regression, user acceptance testing (UAT), security, and performance testing.
  • Develop and document quality best practices across all offerings.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills

Essential Skill Required

  • Person should have good knowledge in Red Hat Enterprise Linux, OpenShift, Kafka and Gitlab
  • Should have hands on experience in Red Hat Integration and Red Hat OpenShift
  • Person should understand Red Hat Integration Product/ Services like AMQ Broker,

AMQ Streams (Kafka), Fuse ESB, Fuse Console, 3Scale and Red Hat Runtimes.

Hands-one experience in Fuse ESB development and support roles.

Previous experience of Application development in SOA architecture.

  • Hand on experience on Red Hat OpenShift or EKS Fargate integration.
  • Experience on Spring Boot, microservice development.
  • Development experience on JBoss Fuse Integration Services or any other similar Java-based integration technology.
  • Apache Camel and SFTP & Http over ESB experience.
  • Understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns.
  • JSON and XML knowledge.
  • C++, C#,
  • Any Database knowledge like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle DB, etc.
  • Utility domain knowledge is a plus.

Mandatory Requirement

  • Person should be at UK for last 5 years having UK full Proof Address
  • Additional benefit for person having NSV (National Security Vetting) Clearance.
