The Role

The Power Systems Engineer will work with a global team responsible to design and implement Power Systems Network Analytics and other Smart Grid solutions to fulfil requirements of Transmission & Distribution Network operators and whole system operators using PowerFactory, Python and Machine learning & statistical algorithms and other solutions.

The Engineer also contributes to research and development of innovative solutions using machine learning, deep learning, RPA for global utilities to address operational & commercial challenges efficiently and effectively in their journey towards zero or low carbon economy.

Responsibilities

• Software development in Pl Visualization Suite, Pl Integrator for Power SCADA Tools, and Pl AF System Explorer Design.
• Develops and applies advanced methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced software applications and problems. Technical Design including writing functional and technical specifications.
• Resolves highly complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations.
• System installation, configuration, performance testing, and tuning.
• Develop system models, visualizations and dashboards, analytical equations and reports
• Provides input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials. Developing best practice designs incorporating the full OSlSoft stack.
• Serves as a customer interface to resolve problems and ensure requirements are met on a timely basis.

Essential Skills

• Deep hands-on systems experience in OSISoft PI System and with working knowledge in one or more of the OSISoft PI System functional modules.
• Experience with at least two full life cycle implementations of OSISoft PI System modules and experience in dynamic support environment.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve complex production issues.
• Should have at least programming skills in C++ or C#
• Should have knowledge in any Database either MySQL, Oracle DB, PostgreSQL, etc.
• Ability to work with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.
• Ability to facilitate interactive design and functional specification sessions.
• Must be a team player able to work with management in developing and implementing new processes and enabling systems. Able to work with end user groups to define application needs and identify feasible solutions.
• Strong analytical problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
• Knowledge of systems and/or business analysis design concepts. Demonstrated proficiency in the applied use of systems and process analysis tools. Full system life cycle experience, including development lifecycle methodologies.
• Good organizational skills, with the ability to meet objectives and effectively multi-task.
• Proactive, self-motivated with the ability to motivate others and a customer-focused service attitude.
• Utility domain knowledge is a plus.

Mandatory Requirement

• Person should be at UK for last 5 years having UK full Proof Address
• Additional benefit for person having NSV (National Security Vetting) Clearance.
