Job Description

The Utilities Data Consultant will be part of our global team responsible to design and lead development of data solutions for several IT and OT systems to fulfil requirements of Transmission & Distribution Network operators and whole system operators. The Consultant also contributes to research and development of innovative solutions for global utilities to address operational & commercial challenges efficiently and effectively in their journey towards zero carbon economy.

The key responsibilities will be

• Develop data architecture and lead the delivery of end-to-end data, integration, reporting solution for Utilities Systems in cloud and hybrid hosting.
• Analyse and understand business requirements (functional and nonfunctional), conduct data & integration impact analysis.
• Develop enterprise data integration landscape, conceptual data model and logical data model
• Develop physical data modelling and database designs.
• Design databases to meet and exceed different non fictional requirements – High availability, zero data loss, cyber security, high resilience, high performance, structured and un-structured data, time series data with resolution of as low as 10 ms, huge volumetric.
• Design data migration, data quality, data integrity solution.
• Support Business Analysts and Solutions architects to design the systems.
• Lead and guide developers to conduct Data base activities such as database creation, management, testing, programming on database, data engineering, reverse data engineering, reporting, analytics, data migration etc.

Mandatory Skills

• 8 to 12 years of overall experience in utilities with expertise in data solution design and implementation.
• Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of Utilities business process for T&D, System Operator business process and systems.
• Experience in conceptual data modelling, logical data modelling, physical data modelling.
• Expertise in requirements analysis, impact analysis, gap analysis, data analysis, data migration, data quality, solution analysis etc. Enterprise Integration, IT-OT integration. Web service based integration, Data link integration, API integrations etc.
• Knowledge of cloud based data solutions such as database, reporting, visualization, ETL, migration etc.
• Expertise in one or many of below databases
• Oracle/MySQL database design and development
• Mongodb /Casandra design and development
• Ability to lead and guide data team in the project/program and get the work done.
• Experience creation of Data Landscape ( As-Is and To-Be ) and Data Flows
• Data Entity and Attribute Definition Data constraints, validation rules , consistency and defaulting rules
• Experience in data modelling tools likes Sparx EA, Erwin, ER Studio , SQL developer, Toad.

Optional Skills

• Experience in one or more of the Utilities systems such as CRM, Asset Management, EMS/NMS, DH, SCADA, Network Modelling & Analysis, ETRM, energy modelling, contracts, settlements etc.
• Application of Data science for energy/electricity forecasting
• Experience/knowledge on Talend , SOA based data integration solutions
• Experience in implementation of reporting and visualization solution using Power BI.
• DDL , DML , DCL , TCL concepts and scripting
• Data engineering and reverse data engineering
• Master Data and Data Management
• Data Entity to Application mapping - Master , Create , Update , Read & Delete
• Electric network modelling, asset modelling, energy modelling, unified modelling, canonical modelling etc.
• Database programming - PL/SQL and similar ones
