Marsh McLennan has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Manager, who is a self-starter that can work in a small development team with minimal supervision. The Data Management Leader would join the Finance Insight Center team. In this role you will be liaising with various business and IT partners throughout the organization, working with big data from various fiduciary systems, Oracle financials, dimensional revenue data warehouses, SalesForce and a myriad of other systems and data sources.

Applying your broad range of technical abilities and creative problem-solving skills you will be required to develop a data management strategy implementing processes and tools to obtain data, enable verification of data through managed and manual processes, etc. to enable the business in answering strategic questions & decision making through collection & cleansing, data analysis and interpretation; and facilitate the Revenue Analytics, BI & data science teams in implementation of predictive analytics, revenue analytics and business intelligence reporting.

  • Manage load schedule, imports, and exports (including data storage)
  • Work with CIS to move to Data Lake
  • Manage RM Team and Anaplan Exports to USDWH
  • Load schedules and performance metrics
  • Reloads & change requests
  • Month end load hyper care
  • Impact to Data from Global Initiatives
  • Assess impact
  • Manage data connections and flows due to changes in data structure
  • Data Integrity
  • Establish automated reconciliation process for all critical data points and transitions
  • Automated notification of failures
  • Follow up on issues and failures etc.
  • Leverage in time zone teams to resolve time sensitive issues and month-end hyper care
  • Project Management for Large Data Projects
  • Establish timelines
  • Updates & report outs with clear communication of progress
  • Highlight issues and potential project delays
  • Ability to work through barriers and find creative solutions
  • Develop, implement and manage reconciliation strategy and tools
  • Develop reconciliation strategy to ensure data is reconciled from source to end-product
  • Implement process leveraging teams across timezones

Eligibility:

  • Minimum 12 months experience in current role.
  • Should have at least “On Track” or equivalent rating in last appraisal
  • Should not be under any Performance Continuity Plan, or had any official Disciplinary action within the last 3 months
  • Should not have applied for any other IJP within Mercer in the last 3 months

Skills & Requirements

  • 10 years’ experience in Data Management and Engineering
  • Advanced knowledge of analytical subject matter areas and tools including Alteryx, Python/R, etc
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Experience with BI Tools and a strong knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite, SmartView EPM, and Salesforce advantageous
  • Ability to work with a global and diverse across multiple time zones
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal, other languages strongly desired
  • Solid knowledge of general business practice and processes as well as strategy and goal of organization (insurance broking industry knowledge a plus)
