Job Description

We are looking for a driven, impactful, dedicated Investment Data & Fund Operation Specialist to join our Risk Management Services – Alternative Investments team! As an intermediary between Fund Operations, Investments, and Business Development, our team is responsible for advanced data analytics, performance representation and portfolio analysis. We provide support for RFP data requests, , develop system reporting for enhanced efficiencies and analysis, provide client advice through private markets commitment planning, conduct risk management reviews of FX hedging and liquidity management and support the product development of the Mercer Alternatives group.

WE WILL COUNT ON YOU TO:

  • Prepare detailed performance analysis for presentations and client deliverables, particularly for performance analysis across various private markets segments, including private equity, private debt, real estate and infrastructure. This process includes editing, quality control, and finalization of client-related documents
  • Compile more complex, client specific data for reporting investment performance
  • Liaise with the different internal stakeholders (Fund Operations, Investments and Business Development) globally
  • Collect relevant data and produce performance representations with high informational content
  • Monitor developments in investment reporting and notify stakeholders of any critical issues. This includes more complex inquiries from clients and consultants regarding portfolio performance
  • Timely and accurate production of regular performance reports, RFP inputs, data input to investment team requests and presentations for regular investment committee meetings
  • Provide professional and accurate input into annual client review meetings
  • Provide research supporting the sales effort
  • Develop and drive process improvement initiatives to improve quality and efficiency, reducing operational risk.
  • Deliver key regulatory reporting requirements and support departmental activities to comply with industry standard regulatory requirements for private markets
  • Plan and manage execution of mid-size projects, including a broad understanding of financial implications and in line with strategic direction from senior managers.
  • Highlight key trends and perform detailed data analysis to support business improvement and business strategy projects.

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:

  • Degree in economics, finance, data science, mathematics, physics or related field
  • 2-4 years of professional work experience in private markets, asset management or related field
  • Experience in investment, risk management or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Self-motivated team player and ability to work independently

WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT?

  • Programming experience in Python, R, VBA, SQL etc. are considered an advantage
  • CFA, CAIA or FRM is a plus
  • Working experience in Investran, Bloomberg and other investment management platforms are considered an advantage
  • Strong sense of ownership, paying attention to detail and ensuring high-quality client deliverables within set timelines
  • Reliability, accuracy and steadiness
