The Dublin-based Marsh & McLennan Innovation Centre (MMC IC) is an innovative R&D and data analytics hub that delivers industry-leading digital solutions for its clients and colleagues.? Based within the MMC IC and part of Marsh’s wider digital organisation (#MarshDigital) is the Carrier Technology Solutions Team & we are seeking the next unicorn to join the team as Senior Data Specialist!

We will count on you for:

Technical Data Leadership

• Be the data specialistinside of the team regarding all data aspects
• Understand existing products end-to-end from technology and business outcome perspectives
• Juggle multiple products at once and still have fun doing it
• Quickly understand different source systems from a practical standpoint. Understand both the technical and business concepts. 
• Provide thought leadership towards the product technology strategy?and support the creation of a futuredata engineering competence inside of the team 
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to other team members and develop guidelines, standards and checklists
• Eat, live and breathe problem-solving
• Liaise closely with technical colleagues that are part of Marsh Digital and MMC’s Tech organisation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment both as an individual contributor and a technical lead 

Data Product Development

• Develop and maintain strong business relationships with the technical and business stakeholders
• Createreusable data queries and data models
• Automate data extractions and processes
• Create reports and dashboards on top of the data to give answers to business requirements
• Help the rest of the team with their developments
• Communicate complex concepts in such a way that stakeholders will understand. 
• Partner with other technology teams to develop state of the art business intelligence and analytics tools
• Provide estimates for product features
• Contribute to increasing the team’s overall velocity, quality and value delivered
• Looks into the horizon for new best practices & technology.
• Participate in data science initiatives

How the role is expected to evolve if you play your cards right:?

• 90 days: Understand the product suite and data models end to end 
• 6 months: Be seen as a go-to person by business stakeholders
• 12 months: Be a proven thought leader and technical SME inside your domain
• 2 years & beyond: Move into technical leadership?

What you need to have:?

• Relevant 3rd level qualification
• 8+ years’ relevant professional experience. Experience and success in owning data solutioning processes end-to-end 
• Advanced data analysis skills and quickly being able to translate business requests into technical database queries. Experience with statistical analysis is definitely a nice to have. 
• Excellent SQL data query skills
• BI/Data Visualizations tools experience (or at least exposure)
• Experience in Python/ R or equivalent language 
• Up-to-date on technology trends and industry thinking
• Data Engineering/ETL experience/
