What can you expect?

  • Lead the design and automation of data strategy and analysis related to ecommerce Affinity clients or business sponsored insurance programs, to optimize portfolio performance over time.
  • Enhance data management capabilities through best-in-class integrity and validation practices, technology, and partnerships.
  • Understand client needs and contractual requirements in reporting and visualizing large amounts of information in ways that are easy to interpret and act on.
  • Empower stakeholders with insights distilled from a variety of structured and unstructured insurance related data to inform or evaluate strategic decisions.
  • Coordinate with other MMC entities on US Affinity clients’ needs, to ensure “One MMC” synced delivery and messaging (i.e. simplify and deepen client relationship and trust through guaranteed data consistency / single source of truth)
  • Manage US Affinity data related investments.

We will count on you to:

  • Lead a team of professionals with excellent critical thinking, analytical skills, and innate curiosity toward improving the business efficiency and growth.
  • Create and execute on a roadmap of data/analytics products that aligns with the overall business strategy.
  • Advocate for large and/or complex data to become more accessible, understandable and usable.
  • Direct the transformation, improvement, validation, merging and integration of data into actionable insights that solve nuanced business problems.
  • Design and review automated solutions built by team members and partners.
  • Identify patterns and draw conclusions pertinent to insurance program goals, such as profit levels informed by insurance market cycles.
  • Conduct detailed research and quantitative analyses using client or market data to promote underwriting excellence, automated and meaningful reporting, and operational excellence to ideally institutionalize accounts within the business.
  • Individually contribute to high profile accounts through steering committee preparation and presentation to Marsh and client executives.
  • Review client contracts, identify data related risks and gaps, propose data/analytics advisory scope.
  • Prioritize data/analytics scope for technology partners (1-2 scrum teams), pressure test sizing and sprint plans, and constantly evaluate and communicate product efficacy throughout life-cycle.
  • Drive toward root cause analysis and documented mitigation/prevention efforts in the event of automation failure impacting data/analytics products, and communicate downstream impact of such failures to stakeholders.

What you need to have:

  • 8-10 years of related work experience, preferably within Property and Casualty Insurance industry.
  • Experience managing and leading a team, preferably multiple years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required within Mathematics or a related field.
  • Knowledge and proven expertise of big data query languages and visualization tools such as SQL, Qliksense, AWS Redshift, Databricks, etc.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Experience in customer empathy, including design thinking, customer journey/persona development, hypothesis-driven test and learn, and the art of storytelling.
