We will count on you to:

  • Gain solid knowledge of all US&C business lines
  • Understand customer needs, resolve customer BI/MI complaints quickly and effectively
  • Cross-pollination of best practices and ideas across operating teams in other Geographies of Mercer
  • Use business acumen to be able to analyze, drive insights and create meaningful reports using large datasets
  • Directs and troubleshoots database issues to keep existing databases running efficiently.
  • Troubleshoots a wide range of issues including server availability and coding issues for database configurations.
  • Directs, plans and executes strategic database activities including installation, configuration and upgrading of SQL server software and products.
  • Creates and sizes database storage structures and objects.
  • Supports strategic direction for database platforms by evaluating and making recommendations for new platforms.
  • Source data from disparate systems with good understanding of Qlik/ other BI tool architecture
  • Extract, transform and load (ETL) data from proprietary SQL databases into BI application
  • Advanced knowledge of script editor to connect and retrieve data from various data sources at the extraction stage
  • Data transformation using advanced joints, functions and sets on SQL database
  • Migrate code across production, development and testing environments

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Math, Engineering or Economics from accredited university or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in business intelligence and performance management
  • Experience managing agile development (or any other key project management approach for data sciences and engineering dev)
  • Experience with Data Visualization tools like Qlikview, Power BI
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with ability to translate data into meaningful insights using SSRS, SQL databases

The National US average range for this role is $63,400.00 - $95,000.00 USD Annual. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications & education. We do not anticipate candidates hired into this role would immediately earn a salary at or near the top end of the range however, such a decision will be dependent on a case-by-case basis.
