What you’ll be doing...

The Artificial Intelligence & Data (AI&D) Organization is an exciting center of excellence supporting all of Verizon. Our team will be a catalyst to Verizon's future in creating networks that move the world forward through the power of Artificial Intelligence & Data.

You will be a strategic thinker joining a high profile, high visibility team that powers analytics and strategic thinking for Verizon, as such you must be agile and able to move at the speed of the business. You will be part of a team that builds tools, analyses, and insights that informs, quantifies, and enables the visualization of data to drive business decisions for all of Verizon’s Networks. With your analytical, big data and reporting expertise, you will deliver business value through business intelligence reporting and analytics by driving insights to actions. One way you will accomplish this is by developing analytical views of data utilizing various BI tools such as Tableau, Qlik, and web-based applications. You’ll also connect various data locations to stage data before visualizations. The business insights and recommendations you provide will help to improve Verizon’s performance.

  • Acting as a business enablement catalyst across multifunctional teams and being responsible for building innovative design solutions by performing comprehensive statistical data analysis using cutting-edge data visualizations and advanced AI&ML methods.
  • Participating in cross-functional project teams to identify critical items required to deliver business solutions
  • Creating critical dashboards and visualizations utilizing Tableau or Looker while partnering with GTS to deliver reporting and data into operational tools
  • Performing ad-hoc analysis and developing reproducible analytical approaches to meet business requirements.
  • Performing exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods.
  • Performing geospatial analyses and creating geospatial visualizations to respond to business requests
  • Presenting results and recommendations to senior management and business users.
  • Strategizing, coordinating, detailing, resource planning and defining scope on multiple projects with evolving timelines in various stages of completing.
  • Leading collaboration with business leads and GTS to execute all visual design phases from concept and requirements to final hand-off to business unit end-users.
  • Conducting and ensuring user acceptance testing with GTS and business leads for database and applications prior to production release to include software testing, quality assurance, and solution certification and approval.
  • Establishing and promoting our brand standards and best practices and across business units and GTS.
  • Detailing and demonstrating solutions by developing wireframes, production documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and models.
  • Reviewing existing visualizations to assess existing opportunities for improvement within the business and to drive an outstanding User Interface solution.

Developing resolutions to complex problems, using your sharp judgment to develop methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria allows you to deliver solutions that make a huge impact. You’re able to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences, and you take pride in your ability to share your considerable knowledge with your peers.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in applying statistical ideas and methods to data sets to answer business problems related to equipment reliability and optimization.
  • Experience with Python, R, SQL (Big Query, Teradata, etc.) and other programming languages to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
  • Experience with Looker, Tableau, Qlik or similar BI reporting tools
  • Experience with developing insights, presenting, and influencing strategic decisions using data.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Masters of Science in Computer Science, Engineering or technical field.
  • Operations research.
  • Basic understanding of 4G LTE / 5G Technologies, IP Networking, RF/SP engineering tools / principles.
  • Strong knowledge of Network data, including inventory systems of record, diagnostic tools, and other Operations and Business Support Systems.
  • Strong understanding of Data Science, AI/ ML models.
  • Basic understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud providers.
  • Experience with visual science / dashboard design principles.
  • Experience with geospatial analytics.
  • Experience in handling large volumes of data across multiple platforms including traditional (Teradata, Oracle) and Cloud-Based (Google Cloud, AWS) for scalable and efficient BI solutions.
  • Experience with Alteryx, Heavy.AI, or similar ETL/geospatial tools
  • Working knowledge of Data Engineering techniques.
  • Proven ability to present complex or technical topics in an engaging way.
  • Experience in investigating and solving complex technical problems and data discrepancies.
  • Program/Project Management experience.
  • Ability to work without close supervision, communicate and manage priorities effectively to meet deliverables.
  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington work location, the compensation range for this position is between $122,000.00 and $227,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
