What you’ll be doing...

This internship position – which is part of the Verizon Campus Program – will give you a chance to channel your drive and enthusiasm while learning from the best minds in the industry. You’ll be front and center, hands-on, and contributing your creative energy to high-impact projects from the moment you arrive through the course of this 10-week experience. You will take part in meaningful work and real-life projects within the Global Network & Technology Organization that will help you grow both professionally and personally throughout the program.

As an AI & Data Intern, you may have the opportunity to:

• Apply ML and statistical techniques to large data sets to find actionable insights.
• Discover and recommend new and improved ways to build the best Networks at the best cost.
• Work with the business teams to collect requirement inputs and create and monitor dashboards based on those inputs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks, strategically create simulations, plan and conduct validation testing, and recalibrate and deliver set objectives.
• Develop and drive applications aligning to strategies and current programs.
• Perform data curation and engineering work to enable business-ready data.
• Monitor the performance of data pipelines and perform data quality checks using in-house tools or Python.
• Develop your professional network within Verizon.

You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.

You’ll need to have:

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Data Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related major with an expected completion date between December 2023 and June 2025.
• Successfully completed Verizon’s Breakthrough Tech Program.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
• Willingness to work in or travel to a Verizon office if needed.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Completed coursework in computer programming (Python/R), linear algebra, physics, probability/ statistics, and/or machine learning/data management/ data analysis/ data structures.
• Knowledge of SQL and Data Visualizations tools such as Splunk and Tableau.
• Knowledge of Data Analysis.
• Demonstrated independent thinking, relationship management, and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated strong analytical, communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-moving, team environment.
