We are looking for an Apprentice for the Information Technology team in Milan who will be trained for 2 years as a Data Engineer.

Your Challenge

As a Data Engineer you will collaborate in a global team of sales & finance data experts across multiple locations to drive the Siemens’ digitalization for finance & sales.

• Supporting the data factory team to leverage enterprise data solutions and drive business value
• Mining and analyzing data to drive efficiency and optimization, develop custom data models and algorithms, and develop processes and tools to monitor production systems and data accuracy
• Identifying, creating, preparing data required for modern BI solutions using new cloud technologies
• Grow/foster an agile mindset and an agile way of working (e.g. agile working methods)
• Build deep relationships with partners (business and other corporate/OpCo IT departments) to become a trusted advisor for their most critical sales & financial processes that support their digital transformation
• Collaboration with other IT DA departments and drive and support strategic initiatives forward for the Siemens Data Cloud
• Take ownership of key projects and manage those projects with the key stakeholders from the business

Required entry qualifications:

• You have less than 30 years of age, in accordance with the Italian apprenticeship contract
• You have a strong academic background (degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a comparable field of study)
• Curiosity and willingness to learn new and upcoming technologies
• Knowledge and experience on SQL
• Basic understanding of ETL/ELT processes (data gathering) as a plus
• Basic knowledge of Cloud platforms and services
• Basic knowledge in scripting languages (Python, R, Java)
• Basic knowledge of Version control tools such as Git, GitLab
• Willingness to work with international teams
• Excellent oral and written English skills
