We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer with experience in Deep Learning to join Mx Assist group.

In this role, you will work in intersection of the two pioneering areas: AI & ML and low code.

Mx Assist group is building innovative AI and ML capabilities that change the future of software development. The team is responsible for researching, innovating, and building AI & ML features to integrate with Mendix Platform to empower the developers to develop apps smartly (AI-Assisted Development) with features like (low) code completion and develop smart apps (AI-as-a-Service.) With features such as ML deployment toolkit.

Our recent AI & ML innovations have been frequently cited by Gartner and Forrester as evidence of the state of the art innovation in AI-Assisted Software Development.

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will be a critical part of our growing company, working on a cross-functional team to implement best practices in technology, architecture, and process.

In this role, you will work on AI technologies to enhance low code application development. You will develop and execute based on both short and long-term roadmaps, making effective trade-offs between business impact and a high-quality technical foundation.

You will own relationships with other engineering teams and collaborate with other functions within Mendix.

Required:

  • Proficiency in Machine Learning: foundational concepts, metrics, model training, deployment and evaluation.
  • Proficiency in Data Science: foundational concepts of data analysis, model creation, hypothesis checking, model performance analysis and scenarios analysis.
  • Experience with shallow models (Regression, Decision Trees, etc) and Deep Learning (Transformer models and sequence models such as LSTM, RNNs, etc).

Tech Stack (depends on the project):

  • Languages: One of JVM languages (Java, Scala).
  • Technologies/Services: Airflow, AWS Infra, Spark, TensorFlow, PyTorch, SciKit, Kubernetes, Terraform.

A nice plus to have:

  • Knowledge and practical experience on Machine Learning Engineering Design Patterns, Transformer architecture.
  • Experience with building software design tools or code analysis tools.
  • Solid understanding and usage of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design, validated principles.

This is a hybrid working position, which means you will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, with the flexibility to work from home as well as from our office located in Rotterdam.
