Job Description

Mode of Employment: Limited; Part time only, internship or thesis possible

Your extra treasure of experience.

The perception system of an autonomous vehicle processes data from multiple sensors of different modalities to compute an internal representation of the vehicle’s operating environment. Further systems depend on this representation for their specific tasks, ultimately enabling the vehicle’s autonomy.
Classical model-based approaches have been successfully used in this context for some time now, but also machine learning-based methods have been producing promising results and are becoming increasingly relevant.
Regardless of the choice of components and approaches, the overall system performance must meet strict reliability, transparency and explainability requirements.

Change the future with us.

Your tasks:

  • Exploration of existing architectures and algorithms
  • Implementation and evaluation of selected algorithms
  • Development of new methods and architectures to achieve high explainability and reliability

What you need to make real what matters.

  • You are an excellent student in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related field at a German university
  • You have good analytical skills
  • Experience in sensor fusion or perception is required
  • Knowledge on probabilistic methods is required
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks is an advantage
  • Very good expertise in C++ or Python is a must
  • Experience with ROS is welcome
