Snap’s Generative AI team mission is to develop deeply engaging and delightful Generative AI experiences for our global Snapchat community. We are a team of Product Managers, ML Engineers and Content leads that collaborate with other cross-functional teams to develop, scope and implement features for consumer facing Generative AI features. Our flagship product is My AI - a virtual friend that chats with users across a variety of topics from telling a joke to giving suggestions on where to find your next delicious meal.

We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager to develop and drive our Personalization Program which is all about building more of a personalized connection between My AI and our users.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and coordinate the Personalization workstream into its own full-fledged Program.
  • Lead internal and cross-functional teams to align on an accurate scope and level of investment of this Program.
  • Drive interdependent projects that ladder up into this Program to success.
  • Develop a key set of KRs and metrics that will define the success of this program.
  • Ensure the accurate allocation of team resources to optimally deliver on the project and overall program goals.
  • Continue to evolve the program as new requirements and technologies come online.

Key Skills and Abilities

  • Develop Program from scratch, including Program charters, scope, resourcing / budget and governance.
  • Strong ability to partner with multiple cross-functional teams to define technical strategy and requirements and drive projects to execution.
  • Exceptionally sharp attention to detail and ability to stay organized amidst an ambiguous and constantly evolving environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and ability to translate difficult / ambiguous concepts to different teams and types of people.
  • Regularly responsible for performing trade-off analysis (product vs. eng) and prioritizing appropriately sized effort for the project and program deliverables.
  • Ability to rally multiple teams together to a common goal; particularly with teams where you have no direct authority or oversight.
  • Develop performance indicators and KRs that measure the sustained success of a Program.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of large-scale technology and innovation projects with engineering and product teams.
  • Proven experience working with global teams distributed across multiple time zones, countries and cultures in a sophisticated technology environment.
  • A master communicator that knows their audience and can distill sophisticated topics to digestible concepts.
  • Experience delivering Personalization initiatives, particularly with some overlap with Machine Learning.

Preferred Qualities

  • A passion and excitement for the Generative AI space, particularly around the innovation of NLPs and LLMs used to power chat experiences.
  • Experience with multi-modal communication and understand the outstanding opportunities these modes of communication can provide to a messaging platform.

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

  • Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base salary range for this position is $205,000 - 295,000 annually
  • Zone B: The base salary range for this position is $195,000 - 280,000 annually
  • Zone C: The base salary range for this position is $174,000 - 251,000 annually

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
