As a Snap Engineering team member, you’ll help us build the future of communication.

We're looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to join our Platform Integrity & Customer Operations Analytics team! 

What you’ll do:

• Develop expertise in data consumption portals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to provide high-quality, scalable datasets on time.
• Ensure data quality and take ownership of supported domains.
• Create and maintain metrics for the business.
• Orchestrate ETL pipelines with Airflow and BigQuery.
• Continuously monitor and improve data quality, ensuring data is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
• Build and maintain accurate dashboards and pipelines.
• Deliver reporting datasets for visualization portals.
• Automate reporting tools for consistent consumption across teams.
• Develop and maintain documentation for data pipelines, processes, and procedures.
• Drive measurement and documentation excellence through the Metric Champion program.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in SQL and a solid understanding of database structures and query optimization.
• Experience in building and maintaining data pipelines to serve reporting needs.
• Experience with data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning techniques.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and experience with related services (e.g., S3, Redshift, BigQuery, Dataflow).
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker and Tableau.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve data-related issues.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex projects to non-technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of data security and privacy best practices.
• Project management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with Agile methodologies for software development.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and tools.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience in a relevant field
• 3+ year experience in SQL or similar languages
• 2+ years development experience in at least one object-oriented or scripting language (Python, Java, Scala, etc), Python preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands on experience with Google BigQuery
• Experience using and sharing notebook solutions like Jupyter
• Experience in version control systems such as Git
• Data architecture and warehousing experience
• Experience with Airflow
• Experience in ETL / Data application development

Compensation

In the United Statesew, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

• Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base salary range for this position is $130,000 - 190,000 annually
• Zone B: The base salary range for this position is $124,000 - 181,000 annually
• Zone C: The base salary range for this position is $111,000 - $162,000 annually

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
