DuPont Electronics & Industrial business has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Data Scientist/Engineering in DuPont’s Electronic Materials Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) Technology group located in Wilmington/Newark, DE. We are the global leader in making various consumables used to polish semiconductor wafers, which then becomes logics and memories in electronic devices, such as smart phones, computers, data center, etc.
This role specifically resides within the data science group of Advanced Characterization and Fundamentals team in CMPT R&D. The data group focuses on designing, developing and implementing digital products and tools that are essential for making R&D lab data readily available, extracting insights from data, and making data-based decisions to accelerate new product development and support customers. The major customers are scientists and engineers within R&D and beyond R&D, such as field service, marketing and product quality. The group is the catalyst to drive the digital transform of CMP and using digital tools to help DuPont CMP stay cutting edge and competitive in the global market.
The ideal candidate will be highly versatile in skills blending a data scientist and data engineer roles, open minded to learn and adapt to new data technologies and characterization techniques relevant to digital product. The candidate is expected to maintain the existing digital product in the group, understand the data pipeline, and provide application support properly. The candidate can grow into a resident expert to shape either the team’s back-end strategy or front-end strategy, to build sustainable solutions for R&D. The candidate should feel comfortable communicating with highly technical customers in science and engineering, able to listen, and incorporate their feedback, to create customized and innovative solutions. The candidate will be part of the DuPont’s internal data science community, and work closely with leveraged IT functions within DuPont, and external consultant where necessary to satisfy customer needs.
The role provides hybrid (onsite and remote) work environment (at least 60% onsite), and the primary site is the experimental station at Wilmington, DE. There will be a periodic need (~few times a month) to go to the site in Newark, DE for customer meetings and trainings.
