Job Description

The Data Scientist/Engineer will be a member of the Digital Innovation Team that will accelerate innovation for DuPont Businesses and Functions through data design and integration for delivery of world-class solutions using technologies and techniques such as Machine Learning, production data pipeline, Azure Cloud, IoT, forecasting, and visualization. This role will report directly to the Digital Data Science/Engineering Lead. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join the DuPont Field Engineering & Supply Chain Development Program, description below.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design and implement data architectures for digital products
  • Build descriptive, predictive and prescriptive models using Big Data, statistics, machine learning across various themes
  • Implement data pipelines, sourcing, and quality control for all digital products
  • Ensure security and leveragability of data used for digital products across company
  • Create landscape architectures and road maps
  • Introduce new technologies / tools in the area of data science and data engineering to improve efficiency and advance digital transformation throughout all Businesses / Functions
  • Collaborate and foster strong relationships with Business / Function stakeholders to leverage existing data and drive digital acceleration at scale
  • Utilize agile to deliver innovative solutions alongside scrum team of developers and designers

Job Qualifications

  • Pursuing or hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited college or university
  • Pursuing or hold a Minor, Bachelor’s or Master’s in applied mathematics, computer engineering, data science, computer science, or equivalent degree from an ABET accredited college or university
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher (out of 4.0 scale)
  • 1-2+ years of relevant work experience in a data science and data engineering role
  • Proficiency in at least 1 programming language (e.g. Python, R, etc.)
  • Certified in statistics analytics and machine learning
  • Experience in relational and NoSQL databases and technology
  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud, PAAS, and ML Service
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Web visualization packages)
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with agile methodologies
  • Strong communication experience with multi-disciplinary teams
  • 100% Geographic flexibility to allow for best career development fit
  • A five-year company commitment to complete a minimum of two assignments (usually 24-36 months per assignment)

Field Engineering & Supply Chain Development Program

This program provides early career professionals and recent graduates with the opportunity to become catalysts for change--transforming industries and improving everyday life. With an accelerated approach to career development, the program combines immersive assignments with formal education, networking, mentoring and leadership exposure through on-the-job rotational experiences.

Participants are encouraged to forge their own path by rotating through a series of two-to-three-year assignments across different businesses, locations, and functions including Operations & Engineering, Global Procurement, and Science & Innovation. Successful engineering and supply chain candidates will complete a minimum of two assignments but may complete up to five. Complete geographic flexibility is required to enable a greater pool of possibilities and diversity of cross-functional experiences.
