We’re looking for an Advisory AI Solutions Software Engineer within the Advanced Innovation Center (AIC) Group at Lenovo. In this role you will work directly with engineering teams responsible for building new innovations and unique experiences.

You’ll be part of highly dynamic technology team and engineering solutions from concept, to design, to prototype. In this role you will be working with both local and globally distributed teams and will be responsible for software and AI designs for internal and partner integration. You will apply your knowledge of software and AI engineering to execute and oversee software development tasks associated with designing, developing, and debugging prototype experiences.

Role

• Create new ground up software and AI experiences from design to prototype stage.
• Build AI solutions for different hardware platforms beyond the cloud.
• Regularly present prototype solutions and proposals to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proactively engage with worldwide technical teams to ensure alignment of requirements and future vision of the product teams.
• Domestic and international travel may be required (5%) for technical meetings, workshops and on-site collaboration activities.
• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external tech communities, and interact with other members of the engineering community.

Position Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience with ML/AI ML/AI training and data pipelines, preferably in classification and forecasting
• 4+ years programming experience in a common OO language (e.g. Java, C++, C# )

Preferred Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in computer engineering, software engineering, machine learning, robotics, or related quantitative field
• Strong Python programming skills and knowledge of ML libraries (e.g scikit, numpy)
• Demonstrable experience with at least one ML/AI framework (e.g. Pytorch, Tensorflow)
• Experience with at least one inference engine API (e.g. DirectML, OpenVINO)
• Knowledge for deploying models in embedded systems (e.g. AI accelerator, FPGA)
• Possess strong mathematical, analytical, logic thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Experience translating marketing requirements into proof-of-concept designs
• Experience with ML data pipelines, including data acquisition, curation, storage and retrieval
• Proficient technical knowledge of current tools and best practices
• Experience using code management tooling such as Git/SVN/CVS
• Knowledge of test-driven development
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Confluence and Jira
