As a Data Scientist at IBM, you will help transform our clients’ data into tangible business value by analyzing information, communicating outcomes and collaborating on product development. Your Role and Responsibilities

Professionals in this specialty focus on identifying key business challenges that can be solved and measured through the application of cognitive applications and artificial intelligence. Responsibilities include translating mathematical formulas into code, building models and proof-of-concept algorithms, as well as researching, designing and developing predictive mathematical models using artificial intelligence. All these skills will be performed in a multidisciplinary group focused on generating data-driven insights. In addition, it will be your responsibility:

  • Lead data science projects collaborating with multiple teams.
  • Develop algorithms for advanced data analysis, mathematical optimization, machine learning and data visualization.
  • Identify and investigate relevant data sources.
  • Produce data visualizations and storytelling to advise on company strategies.
  • Use best practices and ensure a solid methodology for experiments to produce relevant conclusions.
  • Explain complex technical ideas in a simple way, such as mathematical concepts, to non-technical audiences.
  • Manage demands with a sense of urgency and energy.
  • Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Education: Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, IT, Physics or related areas.
  • Experience working as a data scientist.
  • English: Fluent (will work exclusively with global team)
  • Solid knowledge of Statistics (Statistics, Probability, Exploratory Data Analysis, Bayesian Inference, Causal Inference, Time Series Modeling, Machine Learning Techniques, NLP).
  • Business Intelligence.
  • Knowledge of database (SQL).
  • Data preparation methods, predictive modeling (scikit-learn, Stats.models, numpy, pandas, etc.)
  • Data visualization (Plotly, Bokeh, Tableau, PBI).
  • Application and concepts of Machine Learning.
  • Programming skills in Python and/or R.
  • Communication skills.
  • Ability to work with cloud platforms (Azure, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud or AWS)
