EY – Reporting & Analytics Centre of Excellence – Enablement Decision Sciences (EDS) – Manager/Senior Manager Data Science

We are a team of 150+ Data Scientists, Engineers and Analysts. We provide Descriptive, Diagnostic, Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics services to various Enablement functions in EY. We also support key CBS functions including Finance, Talent, Procurement, Brand, Marketing and Communications, EY Technology, EY Knowledge and Global Markets.

EDS can help you:

• Assess expenses and predict spending trends
• Improve budget allocation to optimize return on investment
• Predict and understand employee turnover
• Better understand your internal clients, teams and colleagues
• Forecast revenue, and more

While our Business Intelligence team looks at extracting, storing and integrating the information from multiple sources and deriving meaningful insights using high end visualizations and dashboards, the Data Science team applies advanced data science techniques to predict future trends. Together, we enable our users to not only derive insights from the information they hold but also to use these to their best advantage.

The opportunity

We’re looking for Manager/Senior Manager who can be part of a larger team in the R&A COE team to work on various Data Science and Machine Learning projects.

Your key responsibilities

• Must have at least 9 years of deep experience in building descriptive/ predictive analytical solutions.
• Capability to clearly understand and articulate a data science problem and lead multiple projects with required support.
• Should have hands-on experience in handling various datasets and should be familiar with data science and machine learning techniques such as supervised, unsupervised and ensemble.
• Need to work as a senior team member to contribute in various technical streams of Decision Sciences implementation project.
• Abilty to convert business issues into scientic research, through qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods research.
• Interface and communicate with the data scientists, engineers, architects and buiness leaders
• Documenting and presenting work to the client. Proactively recommending and influencing fact-based changes in business decision-making.
• Leading, coaching and showing the way to young data scientists

Skills and attributes for success

• Hands on with one of the following Python, R, Spark
• Exposure to Information Technology and or IT infrastructure domain
• Working knowledge of MS - SQL, NoSQL – Mongo or Cosmos
• Foster teamwork and lead by example
• Training and mentoring of project resources
• Mentor the team in a specific area of specialization (stats modelling, machine learning, SAS/R/Python programming etc.)
• Participating in the organization-wide people initiatives
• Excellent communication skills

To qualify for the role, you must have

• B Tech/Masters or Ph. D. degree in either Economics (econometrics) or Statistics or MBA (with strong quantitative background) or Bachelors in Engineering with strong quantitative background and adequate industry experience
• Should be at least around 10-12 years of experience in Analytics
• Should have understanding and experience of analytics best practices.
• Excellent business communication, Consulting, Quality process skills
• Must be a team player and team leader

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Ability to work on big data
• Experience in Insurance/ Banking/ Finance
• Prior Client facing skills
• Prior onsite experience is a plus
• Should have engaged in client interactions, participating in business workshops
