Job Description

Over a period of 18 to 24 months, you will get to know different areas of BASF Coatings and actively shape the digital transformation of our business with your creative ideas and excellent understanding of data modeling.

• In six to nine-month assignments per station, you will get to know different units along the value chain and support us in strategic and operational issues.
• The three to four rotation units are geared towards the commercial departments such as Controlling, Marketing, Sales or the Digital Transformation Team, which we design individually with you as part of the rotation planning.
• After an intensive induction on the job in which you get to know various processes and projects of our specialist units, you will take on varied tasks in which you will primarily lead or support agile sub-projects.
• Together with the BASF Coatings Data Analytics team and our domain experts (Data Stewards), you will help us to explore and analyze data from various business warehouse and transaction-based systems.
• For example, you design data models along the value chain using advanced algorithms and machine learning models to transform raw data into business-relevant insights.
• Taking into account the given travel guidelines and federal regulations, an assignment of three to six months abroad or another company unit is an integral part of the program.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Academic degree in business informatics, data science or a comparable course with an IT focus such as computer science, physics, mathematics, business administration or industrial engineering
• experienced in mathematical modeling and data analytics
• practical experience with programming languages ??such as SQL, Python, R, Scala, Java, C/C++
• Familiarity with Advance Visualization applications such as PowerBI
• First practical experiences in project and/or innovation management
• A stay abroad of several months in the form of internships or a semester abroad is desirable
• Business fluent communication in English and basic knowledge of German
