The European Site & Verbund Management continuously develops the large European sites of BASF and thus ensures their competitiveness: We manage the perfect dovetailing of infrastructure, operating services and logistics with production at the sites. In this way, we ensure the basic supply of the company divisions, which can thus operate successfully on the market. In addition, we advise companies on all matters relating to environmental protection, occupational and plant safety, health protection and licensing law.

TASKS

Our interdisciplinary Digital Innovation team drives the digital transformation in various areas such as controlling, production, network control and logistics.

We use modern methods from applied mathematics, data science, computer science and automation technology. The main focus is on machine learning and big data analytics.

  • You are at the forefront of the digital transformation of the process industry. Your work area is diverse and interdisciplinary. They are in direct contact with specialist units in order to develop tailor-made solutions.
  • You analyze data, develop machine learning models and implement them in the form of digital applications, e.g. development of AI-based assistance systems to detect errors, fraud in billing and automation of processes.
  • You will drive digitization forward in projects across units and interdisciplinary with specialist units and improve processes and products through digital technologies and solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Above-average master's degree in data science, statistics, engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, or comparable areas
  • extensive experience with data and mathematical models
  • Knowledge of Python and/or R as well as the development of complex software
  • Experience in the development of web applications, cloud computing (AWS, Azure), agile methods and dealing with DevOps elements (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, unit testing) is an advantage
  • Fast and independent familiarization with new topics
  • open, enthusiastic and result-oriented personality
  • very good communication in German and English
