Your Responsibilities

As Combine Automation Data Scientist, at the John Deere Global Crop Harvesting Product Development Center, you will be responsible for performing statistical analysis of harvest parameters gathered from field and lab environments to support the development of new data and automation solutions for our customer. In addition, you will:

• Support the development and testing of virtual automation models through the integration of field data into prototype algorithms and combine plant models.
• Work with Combine Automation leads to define requirements for data, modeling, and algorithm development.
• Develop and maintain automated reporting tools to transform real-time field data into solution performance reports.
• Provide liaison support with our back-office data partners.
• Conduct data processing, quality assurance, and analysis for continuous improvements.

What Skills You Need

• Experience with Advanced Data Gathering and analysis techniques, including statistical analysis.
• Exposure to tools used for data management or data warehousing.
• Strong theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in statistical techniques.
• Skilled in developing physics-based control systems models.
• Expertise with Python, MATLAB, Simulink, and R.

Education

• Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Area
• Master’s Degree in Technical Area would be a plus.
