Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working closely with the key leading economic indicators, developing a service parts forecasting model and determining causal relationships between sub groups of part level forecast and leading indicators
  • Maintain statistically based econometric service parts models and statistical forecasts by product-line, utilizing statistical software applications and working with service providers on the customization necessary for modeling a product line for service parts demand forecasting
  • Coordinate the forecast accuracy process in different regions and by specific platforms
  • Perform all necessary tasks to ensure engagement of all forecast inputs and to increase forecast accuracy
  • Coordinating/creating presentation related to Economic condition, marketing program and forecast accuracy performance
  • Effectively present/educate forecast inputs about the process and tools. Build and nurture relationship with stakeholders.
  • Maintain accuracy of data. This includes continuing to update parts catalogs to product lines and add/modify product lines requested by forecast inputs
  • Perform various quantitative analysis to continue to improve forecast accuracy
  • Initiate and conduct research/analysis to leverage best practice within Deere and across industry

Required Skills and Experience:???

  • University Degree in Economics, Statistics or Actuarial Science?
  • Expert knowledge of statistical analysis, econometrics and time series forecasting (performs more complex functions, understand principles, may teach others)
  • Ability to work with large data set and ability to conduct statistical analysis using hundreds of Excel files
  • Knowledge of statistical programming language (SAS, SPSS, R, Matlab, STATA), advanced user in Excel-VBA and proficient in MS Access
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to independently translate academic research into practice
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, listening and speaking)
  • Strong presentation skill, ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrate initiative, commitment, good interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Expert skills in Data Visualization tools Power BI and Tableau?
  • Knowledge in EDL, Business Objects and SAP and good knowledge in project management would be desired but not required
