We are a team of IT (Information Technologies) professionals from Seagate. We are responsible for creating and implementing data-driven solutions to support business decisions and operations. The use of AI and ML allows for real-time data analysis and decision making, predictive maintenance, and the optimization of production processes. We collaborate with the business teams to harness the full potential of Industry 4.0 - Real-time control, IoT, Big Data and Analytics, Automation and Artificial Intelligence to support “Smart Factory” initiative, to make better decision and maximize operational excellence.

About the role - you will:

Work with automated machine learning (AutoML) exposure which is the process of automating the tasks of applying machine learning to real-world problems. The intended aim of AutoML is to assist data scientists in their work and not replace them. It is also a good option for building models and allowing non-experts to contribute to the machine learning domain. 

You will support and work with our Data Scientist and Data Engineers in these functions: 

• Research and propose on a platform or open-source library that simplifies each step in the machine learning process, from handling a raw dataset to deploying a practical machine learning model. 
• Evaluate AutoML platforms with different dataset, e.g., Tabular dataset and IoT Time series dataset 
• Some AutoML platform example: EvalML, H2O.ai and PyCaret 

Your Seagate Journey with us: 

• Within 1 month, you have opportunities to gain knowledge in Auto Machine Learning and application of Python programming when required
• Within 3 months, you have will have hands-on experience and global exposure in Auto Machine Learning in factory environment 

About you:

We are looking for candidates who are highly passionate about data science and want to apply AI/machine learning/deep learning techniques to solve real-word problems. 

• Self-motivated, independent and a team player with effective analytical skills
• Good at Python programming
• Undergraduates of Bachelor Degree in Computer Science and Computer Engineering

Your experience includes:

• Hands-on assignments involving Python Programming or Machine Learning will be an added advantage
• Familiarity with AI Machine learning techniques, frameworks, and libraries 
• Application of Data Science is an added advantage

Our Penang office is based in Suntech at Cybercity. Easily accessible from two bus stops, many employees take mass-transportation to work.
