Seagate's sales operations organization is looking for an experienced professional Business Staff Analyst that will report to the Senior Manager of Strategic Planning for global cloud and OEMs. You are a skilled analyst that knows how to manipulate data, develop forecasts, project product transitions at a detailed level and turn that data into tangible market information and plans. About you:

Bring a background of working in business development, product line management, demand planning, sales, or sales operations as you accomplish the following responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop and maintain forecast models. 
  • Conduct market segmentation analysis using statistical models to conduct forecasting. 
  • Provide in-depth market analysis by geography, customers, product, and channel. 
  • Analyze pricing strategies and scenario analysis on profit and loss for contingency planning and trade-offs.
  • Work with business sales and vertical leaders on quarterly planning and pricing strategy. 
  • Establish long term market forecasts that can be leveraged for product development, product road-maps and transitions.
  • Drive data integration of internal systems into planning tools and quarterly planning processes.
  • Prepare consolidated views of the business for executive meetings and quarterly processes. 
  • Maintain and manage tracking of key business and financial metrics (market size, mix, pricing, costs, and margins etc.). 
  • Have the ability and skills needed to communicate complex data sets into visual information for management and communicate it succinctly.
  • The ability to mix and optimize data sets for best outcomes.
  • The ideal candidate will have a critical understanding of product and customer master data hierarchies as well as be an advocate of corporate data governance and scalability.
  • Will promote and lead data-driven decision making and deliver solutions that achieve this.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Account Management Product Lifecycle Management, Finance, and Business Segment Owners to plan and build a consolidated view. 
     

Your experience includes:

Bachelor’s degree of Science in Business Accounting, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Supply Chain, Management, Finance, or technical degree with complementary business degree.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VBA Macros, Modeling, and Indexing) and experience with SQL and multiple database sources
  • SAP BOBJ and SQL expertise
  • Strong understanding of disk drive industry, supporting customer go-to-market activities, as well as global business perspectives.
  • Must be able to develop cooperation and foster teamwork at all levels while maintaining integrity of their point of view
  • Creative and resourceful problem solver
  • Positive attitude and proven self-starter

You May Also Have:

  • KNIME experience & expertise
  • Experience with API integration
  • Python experience
  • SAP Analytics Cloud / AFO experience
  • Systems thinking and experience in both systems and process improvement
  • Ability to learn and pick up new tools and languages quickly
     

Location:

U.S. Remote, Longmont, CO or Fremont, CA 

Travel up to 10% 

For Colorado applicants only - Colorado's 2021 Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) requires we inform you of the estimated salary range for this position: $95,000 - $123,000 yearly. Actual salary range is based on fair market value of the role in the geography in which you live based on the requirements of the job and your skills. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate and Seagate reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
