Thomson Reuters is seeking a Senior Data Analyst, Product Analytics for the Product Analytics Excellence team. The senior analyst is responsible for end-to-end analytics projects, taking the lead on understanding the Product team’s requirements and long-term goals, then utilizing data including customer behavior, product usage, and product performance to conduct analysis and drive data-driven decision making. This is a data-focused role requiring a thorough understanding and ownership of data collection, cleansing, transformation, interpretation & visualization to draw business, customer, and product insights.

The Product Analytics Excellence (PAE) team is part of the Product Analytics team, a group of 20+ Analysts using data to influence Thomson Reuters product decisions, with a strong culture of learning and collaboration. PAE specializes in analytics projects spanning multiple product areas, such as implementing machine learning based usage forecasting to inform decisions around product enhancements or support. As a member of this team, you’ll have a direct impact on Thomson Reuters product development, including products and analysis driven by AI and Machine Learning.

About the Role

As a Sr. Data Analyst - Product Analytics, you will:

Drive Data-Driven Culture: Translate complex business problem statements into analysis requirements and work with internal customers to proactively drive analytics initiatives.

Manage Stakeholders: Collaborate with product managers to nurture data-driven product management and decision making.

Influence Product Decisions: Use product analytics/data to recognize patterns and trends to understand user behavior, identify improvement opportunities, and determine potential courses of action for product teams.

Lead BI/Reporting:  Partner with BI teams to build dashboards and forecasting reports, including short-term peak period usage trends, long-term demand & optimum resource allocation forecast.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on product analytics experience that includes some experience leading initiatives, managing stakeholders, and influencing specific decisions, OKRs or metrics.
  • 4+ years of experience with dashboarding techniques to make complex data more understandable and insightful using tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
  • 4+ years of experience using SQL, Snowflake or Alteryx; building and documenting queries for consistent team use.
  • 3+ years of experience driving data-driven decision making within product teams going beyond report generation to delivering insights.
  • 3+ years of experience using statistical packages within Python/R to analyze structured and unstructured datasets.
  • 3+ years of experience using Statistical Modelling & Predictive Analytic tools like XGBoost, FBProphet, Sarimax.
  • Exposure to Machine Learning tools like Amazon SageMaker Canvas, Jupyter notebook is an asset.
  • Exposure to product analytics tools such as Pendo, Amplitude, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Gainsight is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills, including experience in supporting and communicating data-driven analysis to various stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Building and maintaining support processes. Jira, MS Azure Dev Ops and MS SharePoint experience is an asset.
  • Tax or Accounting subscription products experience is an asset.
