The Data & Analytics organization is looking for a highly motivated individual with strong organizational and technical skills for the position of Data Modeler. This role will be responsible for creating conceptual, logical, and physical Data Vault models that align with business requirements and support efficient data management and analytics.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Data Modeler, you will:

  • Developing conceptual, logical, and physical Data Vault models to represent business requirements and ensure a comprehensive understanding of data structures.
  • Create and maintain data dictionaries, metadata, and documentation related to data models.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and application developers to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data models.
  • Analyze and optimize data models for performance, ensuring efficient data retrieval and storage.
  • Work with development teams to implement indexing, partitioning, and other strategies for optimal database performance.
  • Define and enforce data modeling standards and best practices to ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Stay current with industry trends & emerging technologies related to data modeling and database design.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to execute on Thomson Reuters target state strategy.
  • Ensure data governance compliance as it applies to security and privacy.
  • Effectively communicate and liaise with other data teams embedded across the organization and data consumers in data science and business analytics teams.

About You

You're a fit for the role of Data Modeler if your background includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, Computer Science or related technical degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in working with databases, data warehouses or Data and Analytics or technology operations.
  • Proficient in SQL and possess prior data modeling experience.
  • Experience with Data Vault concepts and tools (Vaultspeed a plus)
  • Proficient with data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
  • Experience with AWS and Snowflake is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data integration and ETL processes.
  • Experience in Data Warehousing, database design including data models and data processing.
  • Broad understanding of the technologies used to build and operate data and analytic systems.
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, presentation, documentation, troubleshooting and collaborative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to conduct business requirement gathering and analysis.
