Job Description

The Associate Director, Real-World Data Analytics is responsible for programming, verification, and re-calculation of results from observational and non-interventional studies (ONIS) based on existing data (mainly using automated healthcare databases) by using R and/or Python, in close collaboration with the RWE analyst and the Study Lead from the function responsible for the study (such as Global Epidemiology/ Corporate Market Access/ US HEOR departments). This role will perform quality assurance tests for ensuring data integrity and quality as well as provide subject matter expertise on Real world data (RWD) sources and technical expertise to assist in developing, planning, and implementing the data integration and data migration activities. The incumbent will provide expert input to assist in preparing database functional and design specifications for use across the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Writes respective sections of research protocols on data management (when bespoke programming is used for the analysis), study reports and resulting publications for peer-reviewed scientific journals in collaboration with the RWE (senior) Analyst and the Study Lead.
  • Conducts verification and re-calculation of results from observational and non-interventional studies (ONIS) based on existing data by using various programming languages in close collaboration with the RWE Analyst and the Study Lead.
  • Develops and implements critical routine data quality and validity assessment.
  • Resolves database problems, queries and error reports in accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintains records (accurate and complete database programming documentations) for all assigned projects using various programming languages and archives project analysis and associated documentation following internal BI rules.
  • Applies the selected appropriate codes and algorithm for patients selection to build disease and/ or product cohorts by using various programming languages and ensures maintenance of the cohorts at each database(s) update.

In close collaboration with the IT team:

  • Provides subject matter expertise on Real world data (RWD) sources and technical expertise to assist in developing, planning and implementing the data integration and data migration activities related to licensed-in data sources.
  • Tracks datasets updates.
  • Provides valid inputs in database architectural discussions.
  • Assists in identifying process improvements for database performance, reliability and stability.
  • Provides expert input to assist in preparing database functional and design specifications.
  • Tests database systems and perform bug fixes.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree (e.g., BS, Master) and/ or post-graduate training in computer science, mathematics, statistics, biostatistics, (pharmaco-)epidemiology and/ or health-economics with a focus on applied statistics, econometrics or related fields.
  • Masters with two (2) years of experience in the analysis of RWD or PhD.
  • Profound SAS, R, Python programming knowledge.
  • Mandatory experience on statistical-epidemiological programming and handling complex large real-world datasets from automated healthcare databases (EMR and/ or claims).
  • Knowledge of multifaceted internal validity checks in large databases.
  • Understanding of the principles of and experience in the design, conduct and issues in epidemiological/ observational research and/ or Health Economics and Outcomes Research.
  • Knowledge of coding systems used in healthcare and pharmacovigilance databases (e.g., ICD9/10, CPT, HCPCS, READ codes, ATC classification, MedDRA…).
  • Aptitude to work under pressure, strong performance orientation, used to work in matrix structures.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
