Job Description

Integrated in the function Clinical Data Science, you work in the Center of Excellence CMC Statistics and support pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality by providing strategic statistical planning and execution, data transformation as well as all aspects of descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics of data.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of all data analytic aspects in projects in the Chemical, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) context, including experimental design, data analytics and transformation as well as reporting. This comprises the implementation, validation and provision of outputs and analytic tools according to company and / or regulatory standards.
  • You will apply established statistical methods and combine them with leading-edge data science methods in designing, collecting, and analysing CMC data. 
  • In addition, you will be creative and use your statistical expertise to provide methodologically sound, yet pragmatic solutions.
  • You will closely collaborate with scientists and experts from various disciplines.
  • You will challenge yourself and enhance your business knowledge as well as your scientific expertise in a global environment.
  • Futhermore, you will exchange with the statistical and data science community.
  • You will be an active part of a global biostatistics and data sciences organization that covers all statistical aspects within the complete human pharma product life cycle.

Additional tasks and responsibilities at principal level

  • You will lead and oversee the planning and execution of all data analytic aspects in complex projects and provide strategic input and directions.
  • You will lead and guide other colleagues, internal and external partners on statistics related tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc), Master of Science (MSc) or Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Statistics, Mathematics, or related field (e. g. Natural Science)
  • Sound knowledge of statistical methodology, design of experiments, basic terminology related to manufacturing or quality control
  • Proficient knowledge of and hands-on experience in relevant software languages, like SAS and R
  • Experience in providing statistical support and demonstrated hands-on experience about CMC statistics questions
  • Ability to pro-actively identify issues and solutions and to interact with internal and external bodies on routine issues
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people, internally and externally (e. g. management, academic partners, scientific experts) as well as evidence of strong teamwork, also in a global and remote context
  • Oral and written communication skills to interact in interdisciplinary teams as well as the ability to effectively explain, visualize and communicate statistical information to non-statisticians
  • Fluency in written and spoken German and English

Additional requirements at principal level

  • Demonstrated broad knowledge and experience in planning, transforming, analysing, interpreting, and reporting data from complex projects related to CMC statistics
  • In-depth knowledge and experience regarding advanced statistical concepts as well as relevant software languages
  • Advanced project lead experience
