Job Description

The optimal candidate will possess strong programming, analytical, and communication skills, and demonstrate ability to work well in a team environment. As the Data Scientist, you will work at the direction of Senior and Principal Data Scientists to develop expertise on all Business Banking-related data; collect, organize, and prepare data for use in personalized sales leads; develop, execute, and maintain programs to generate customized leads; and support reporting and communications with management regarding Smart leads performance and strategy. 

Smart Leads operates as an Agile team within the Enterprise Data and Analytics organization, working closely with other teams involved in various customer communications. 

In this role, you will:

• Generate and deliver sales leads to drive customer deepening and portfolio growth
• Maintain production programs to consistently deliver sales leads to colleagues across the bank per the schedule required (daily, weekly, biweekly, intra-day)
• Integrate new and revised Business Banking-focused lead programs within existing production code to deploy changes and additions
• Maintain and improve processes/programs for generating and delivering sales leads and other related information flows 
• Support data engineering work needed to improve interconnectivity of internal systems to drive improved prospective customer engagement
• Automate various standard procedures including data flows, monitoring, & quality control 
• Manage and analyze call disposition data to optimize lead selection and assess performance 
• Coordinate with stakeholders and business partners on lead strategy and logistics
• Document and communicate analytic insights for both technical and non-technical audiences, often within an Agile working structure
• Support discussions with business partners about application of data and analytics to Business Banking use cases 
• Support measurement of sales lead and related programs to assess the value of specific analytics initiatives 
• Implement experimental designs to meet business objectives
• Continuously innovate through exploration of new techniques, platforms and data sources

Technical Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science/Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance or related fields
• Strong programming skills and ability to utilize a variety of data/analytic software languages/tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, R, Python, etc.)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required with an ability to successfully communicate analytic results, business insights and resulting business implications to non-technical business partners
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues who have a background in statistics, database development/maintenance, and information technology 
• 0-5 years of experience in Analytics or Computer Science/Programming, particularly with Financial Services application
