Job Description

Citizens Bank is currently in the process of delivering a transformed sourcing and procurement experience to the business. In this role as a Business Insights Data Scientist you will be armed with key spend data, forward looking market intelligence and a fully integrated source to pay process enabling you to be a strong strategic partner with Procurement and Business Line partners. As the Business Insight Data Scientist, you will be responsible for parsing complex data sets to deliver meaningful, actionable business insights, visuals, and strategic guidance to your Sourcing partners. You will play a valuable role by extracting and manipulating data to create quantitative analysis, reporting and presentations to visualize the data into actionable insights that inform and provide recommendations, drive strategy and ensure key policies are being adhered to. The Business Insights Data Scientist will exhibit the business acumen to present data in a way that Sourcing, and Business Line partners can action against to generate a positive impact and assist them in achieving their business goals, while optimizing value to the overall organization.

Responsibilities Will Include

• Harness internal business systems, transactions, and interactions data across the enterprise; inventory and strategy for turning our historical assets into data, with phasing and prioritization
• Creating full view of sourcing data, across lines of business
• Enrichment of data sets with external data sources
• Cultivation and sourcing of new, unused data elements (e.g., data lake stage tables, vendor samples, derived files from other analytics resources, etc.)
• Implementation of standards, processes and best practices for data capture, integration, availability, quality, integrity and compliance
• Identification and maintenance of hierarchical waterfalls for informing data elements where multiple sources can inform at different levels of quality and coverage.
• Automation of data flows, monitoring, quality control
• Participation in development of real time event driven data build-out & integration into intelligence universe

Qualifications

• Required: Work experience with SQL, SAS or similar functional tools, data modeling, statistical analysis, and relevant computing requirements
• Required: Strong working knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them within the context of Procurement, enterprise spend and industry trends related to third party vendors
• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics, or Business degree with analytics area of specialization.
• Preferred: Working knowledge of supply chain, sourcing and procurement practices
• Preferred: Strong project management with experience in root cause analysis
• Preferred: Knowledge of Ariba, Oracle, and advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint[HIWH1] [HIWH2]

Education

Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics, or Business degree with analytics specialization., 4-6 years of work experience

Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday
