Our RISK Artificial Intelligence Research team is here to drive the bank's digital transformation through the development of strategies and recommendations based on advanced analytical methods.

The time spent within RISK AIR is devoted to using our knowledge in data flow and artificial intelligence and our analytical skills to interpret large data sets and solve the concrete problems of our businesses, functions and clients.

As part of finding solution to our problems, we are trying to leverage the latest advances in the academic world, with work, for example, on AI models’ interpretability or progress in terms of targeted sentiment analysis.

Role responsibilities

Within our team of c.15 people, you will support Data Scientists and contribute to industrializing the analysis and modelling of structured and unstructured data. You will also contribute to the architecture design of the solution for your project. And you will participate to the team effort in building tools to improve efficiency with a focus in delivering high standard code and models.

You will work closely with other Data Analytics Engineers and Data Scientists. You will be responsible for ensuring consistency and sharing your ideas.

Your work will not simply be a traineeship subject but will be of crucial importance for the project you will participate in. It will be visible to all entities with which RISK AIR collaborates and will therefore have a direct impact on the team and its influence within BNP Paribas.

Primary Responsibilities:

Over the 6 months internship, you will work directly with the RISK AIR team based in Madrid. Responsibilities will include:

- Industrializing Data Scientist analytical code, with a key focus on code quality improvement and performance optimization for deployment in a production environment.

- Providing opinion and a clear view on IT architecture for our projects, including data acquisition and storage, development methods, model serving and monitoring setup.

- Contributing to team tooling to improve team efficiency and our capacity to analyse data, and then train, deploy and monitor our models.

Technical skills and qualification

- Analytical background in IT, Math/Statistics and or Data.

- Proficient level in Python Programming, with knowledge of data science libraries.

- Competences in one or several of these domains: sysadmin / infrastructure (CI, CD, horizontal scaling), database (SQL, NoSQL, transactional), back-end development (typing, mutability, serialization, build, tests), front-end, and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Dask …)

- You speak fluent English.

- Knowledge of the AI lifecycle and modelling are a plus.

And you have good knowledge/experience with development using these tools:

Integration: Gitlab, Bitbucket.
