Perform research and development in the field of cyber vulnerability analysis. Intern will be responsible for enhancing an existing tracking tool for a cyber vulnerability analysis platform, tracking user activities for dynamic analysis, and developing new plugins to support reverse engineers. Intern will also connect the new tracking capabilities to existing HRL software for backend data analysis.
Additional job functions include solving customer problems, writing invention disclosures, publishing papers, briefing customers, and assisting in marketing HRL expertise.
Required Skills:
Research experience in cyber vulnerability analysis and reverse engineering and ability to verify and validate developed software with unit testing, integration testing, and UI testing. Experience in developing plugins, especially in reverse engineering tools (e.g., Ghidra, IDAPro, etc.). Must be able to design experiments and pilot studies to demonstrate the utility of the developed software. Must also be able to prepare documentation for software.
Experience developing innovative solutions based on the application of relevant research results from a wide variety of literature i.e. from theory to software.
Experience working on projects requiring group software development and version control is a plus.
Experience in using machine learning tools and packages (e.g., Caffe, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Sklearn), COTS reinforcement learning simulators (e.g. OpenAI, PettingZoo, etc.), and distributed software (e.g. Ray, Python multi-processing) is a plus.
Background in causal inference and one or more of the following areas: machine learning, machine reasoning, computer vision, network science/graph theory, text mining, statistics.
Strong Python programming skills, proficiency with Unix-based systems, in addition to R, C/C++, Java, and/or Matlab.
Required Education:
Currently pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Network Science, Applied Math, Statistics, EE or related fields
Compensation:
The pay range for this position $35 - $50 per hour.
