Job Description

Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art.

ASSIGNMENT DURATION: 2-4 Months

SCHEDULED WORK WEEK HOURS: 20-40 hours/week

EDUCATION DESIRED:

MS, Ph.D. or pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science, Network Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or Applied Math.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assist technical staff in the design, implementation and performance evaluation of machine learning and teaching algorithms applied to problems in extreme, rare and novel event predictions, security analytics, and vehicle/platform health management.

EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

Class projects or work/internship experience in machine learning techniques applied to problems in security analytics, design optimization, and societal event predictions. Programming experience with Python, Java, C/C++, R and/or Matlab. Experience with Apache Spark, YARN, GraphX, MapReduce or Hadoop.

KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:

Machine learning, security analytics, strong programming skills, particularly proficient with Python, Java, R, C/C++, and/or Matlab.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Good communication, presentation and writing skills.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required.

Compensation:

The pay range for this position $35 - $50 per hour.

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
