Job Description
Senior Platform Engineer - Game Based Innovations Lab
WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
You will be based in one of our offices in North America as part of our Game-based Innovations Lab (GBIL). Remote locations are welcome.
The Game-based Innovations Lab is a team of approximately twenty scientists, game designers, engineers, and product specialists that use their deep expertise in the fields of psychometrics, learning science, data science, gaming design, and technology to develop measurement and assessment products across areas like cognitive assessment and learning/development experiences.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will secure implementations and mitigate vulnerabilities, generate data measurement excellence to guarantee impact and ownership from start to finish.
In this role, you will develop, test, and deploy secure backend web services using Typescript, Docker, and Kubernetes, and you will write SQL queries, perform data migrations, and craft tools for CI and automation. Additionally, you will be building web applications and programming backends for handling data hosted on the cloud while adhering to the firm's security-first standards.
You will be part of one of the leading management consultancies globally and will have the autonomy to thrive in a fast-growth tech culture.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 7+ years of relevant full time experience
- Expert in Python; experience with web frameworks like SQL, Flask, and JavaScript libraries like React, Redux is a plus
- Expert understanding of full-stack web development and common frameworks such as Python, Ruby, or JavaScript runtime platforms like Node.js
- Expert in container orchestration and technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, EKS from the ground up
- Experience working with relational or non-relational databases
- Experience with cloud services such as those offered through AWS such as AWS Kinesis
- Experience architecting systems and selecting technologies to underpin web services
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills paired with the ability to develop creative and efficient solutions
- Ability to work under competing priorities and manage expectations effectively
- Ability to manage own professional development and contribute to functional knowledge building
