Who You'll Work With

You’ll be based in our Seoul office as a part of McKinsey Digital.

McKinsey's Digital team brings together the best of our digital capabilities to help our clients use digital technology to transform their businesses. As part of this group, you’ll join a global team working on everything from IT modernization and strategy to agile, cloud, cyber security, and digital transformation. You’ll typically work on projects across all industries and functions and will be fully integrated with the rest of our global firm.

You’ll also work with colleagues from across our firm to help our clients deliver breakthrough products, experiences, and businesses, both on technology and non-technology topics.

What You'll Do

You will play a key role in the development of big data and advanced analytics as a refined, yet evolving, capability of our client teams who advise the top firms.

In this role, you’ll work on client projects as an integral part of engagement teams and you will also contribute to internal knowledge development initiatives. You’ll disaggregate and structure complex, often ambiguous, business problems and evaluate different analytical approaches to develop potential solutions. You will apply advanced analytic and quantitative tools, statistical modeling techniques and data mining procedures to derive business insights and solve complex business problems. Further, you will deploy statistical modeling and optimization techniques most suited for the business problem (using Python, SAS, SQL, R and other relevant tools).

You will contribute to team problem solving through the findings and insights from your analysis and help facilitate data integration and management between clients and McKinsey. Ultimately, you will contribute to the development of knowledge for the analytic group at large.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in statistics; master's degree is a plus
• 3+ years of experience as data scientist, engineer or analyst
• Deep knowledge of machine learning and statistical modelling along with programming skills with python, R
• Knowledge and expertise in the application of advanced technologies in finance or B2C industry preferred
• Familiarity with the use of algorithms, machine learning, data architecture and technology systems deployed in related value chains and how to translate them into business decisions
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent presentation skills including strong verbal and writing capabilities
