Job Description

As a Qualcomm Systems Engineer, you will research, design, develop, simulate, and/or validate systems-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions that enables the development of cutting-edge technology. Qualcomm Systems Engineers collaborate across functional teams to meet and exceed system-level requirements and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field

Skills/Experience:

- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master or PhD degree in related field highly desired

- SOC Architecture Background, preferably Compute SOC Architecture.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Demonstrated ability to collaborate on projects with multiple teams and disciplines

- Ability to develop and improve methodologies for experiments and analysis in the specific area of expertise

- Experience or Education involving hardware, System architecture and software

The successful candidate will engage collaboratively across the company with core hardware, software, marketing and product planning teams to architect market-leading SoC products with best-in-class performance and power. The candidate will drive efforts to develop and prototype new system solutions and approaches. Qualifications

Total Experience : More than 12 Years

-7+ years of relevant experience required in SoC/Computer Architecture, Systems Engineering or related work.

-Bachelor's degree in Electronics and communication Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Areas of Expertise (the more the better):

Candidates should have one or more of the following areas of knowledge and/or expertise:

• SoC / Computer Architecture-
• Heterogeneous compute architecture/systems
• Memory system architecture
• ARM/RISC-V/other CPU architecture/systems
• Machine Learning architecture/systems
• DSP architecture/systems
• Graphics, GPGPU, Open CL/GL architecture/systems
• Reliability, and/or security architecture/systems
• Digital hardware design, verification, test
• Power and/or performance analysis, simulation, and modelling
• Software architecture, operating systems, and/or data structures
• Open and Embedded systems
• C/C++/SystemC development
• Linux/Android/Windows exposure/experience
• Perl/Python/Other scripting knowledge

Possible Assignments Depending on Area of Expertise:

The successful candidate will engage collaboratively across the company with core HW design & verification, SW, marketing, and product planning teams, to:

- Architect market-leading tablet, laptop, gaming and other SoC products with best-in-class performance and power

- Directly apply computer architecture knowledge of CPUs, GPUs, DSPs, cache coherency, virtual memory, etc.;

- Conduct hands-on workload analysis including algorithm optimization and analysis of performance and/or power characterizations to help define our SoC architecture plans;

- Collaborate with HW and SW teams to define best-in-class multimedia, modem, compute and memory technologies;

- Deploy simulators, profilers, or even real hardware to provide quantitative justification for architectural directions;

- Effectively communicate experimental results, review with technical leads and peers, analyze outstanding issues;

- Creatively overcome obstacles to obtain the answers to architectural questions;

- Invent and file patents on technical solutions to relevant problems;

- Collaborate within a rapidly growing and world-class computer architecture team!
