Job Description
We are currently searching for a talented and motivated Data Steward to join our team. As part of the HR People Analytics Team, the successful candidate will work with a wide range of HR and IT stakeholders to create and drive forward a Governance program for HR data. The candidate will work closely with IT, other members of the People Analytics team as well as HR Business Process and data owners to implement, manage and enhance a comprehensive Governance program.
As a member of the People Analytics Team, you will be expected to:
- Hands on Data Stewardship including Data Quality “Root Cause” Analysis across the Data Supply Chain but with focus on identifying lack of controls in point-of-capture sources (e.g., Workday)
- Must compile retention, archival, and disposal requirements and ensure compliance with institutional policy and regulations.
- Grooms all EDC and Axon data in conjunction with the Data Governance Lead Role
- Responsible for the capture and reporting of all Data Quality KPIs, metrics, and overall reporting that can be used to show value of the Data Governance program – in conjunction with the Data Governance Lead
- Codes and Tests Data Quality Rules on IDQ or equivalent platform and ensures rules are assigned to all Key Data Elements in Platforms and across the supply Chain
- Participates in the Issue Triage and Tracking process to resolve issues in the Source Systems and across the Data Supply Chain
- Perform Data Profiling to understand and report on quality of data required to support Analytics Use Cases
- Define and implement Data Quality controls & KPIs.
- Support the Data Quality issue/defect management process within the business unit and maintain repository of issues for monitoring and tracking Data Quality issues.
- Identify and propose CDEs while defining, standardizing and documenting the metadata under each business domain.
- Support efforts in training, communication, and Change Management to achieve HR-wide change associated with Data Steward initiatives.
- Support efforts to create or enhance Data Governance related procedures, user guides, business process maps, training materials, and Change Management documentation.
- Monitor and report on Data Steward related Metrics (e.g., define/ gather metrics, develop dashboards, etc.) as per the standards defined by Data Governance Lead.
- Present status updates, issues / challenges / risks and solutions to senior management, stakeholders and partners in a succinct manner to drive decision-making and actions.
- Conduct meetings to solve issues / challenges / risks by factoring input from partners and diverse points of view.
- Promote data as an asset’ and drive culture change to make the organization data savvy’ via lunch-n-learn sessions and equivalent forums in partnership with other Data Providers and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience in development and maintenance of Workday, Informatica Data Quality, AXON, EDC
- Configuration and maintenance of data assets in Workday, Informatica Data Quality, AXON, EDC
- Experience with configuring and maintaining governance/stewardship workflows in the Informatica suite of applications
- Ability to analyze problems and generate creative solutions for challenging issues.
- Solid written and oral communications skills.
- Experience in a Cloud environment- preferably AWS and Redshift
- Experience interacting with technical partners and customers and extracting functional requirements and the ability to communicate requirements to technical teams
- Bachelors Degree – Preferred degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems, Business degree with strong technical background
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong business acumen, critical thinking ability, and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of governance and stewardship processes
- Good balance of technical and functional knowledge, ability to absorb and understand high level technical concepts and simplify concepts to business teams
- Experience with implementation of training programs around data governance ensuring correct stakeholders are involved
