Job Description

VALEO is the world market leader for sensor technology in the area of ​​driver assistance and the market leader for parking systems. The Kronach-Neuses research and development site has developed into a center for autonomous driving. There, around 130 developers work on the development of detection functions for series products such as front cameras as well as research on algorithms for the latest sensor generations of cameras, ultrasound, LiDAR and RADAR and their use in autonomous driving and parking in the city and highway environment .

For the business group comfort and driver assistance systems in the area of ​​driver assistance, we are looking for you to join our team at the earliest possible start date.

These challenges await you:

• Intelligent data set creation based on deep learning for camera and LiDAR data
• Data set evaluation and validation for safe autonomous driving
• Definition, design, implementation, testing and further development of reusable components using rapid prototyping (Python) and software development (C++)
• Working in a research-based environment in a group of innovative engineers and scientists at one of the largest automotive suppliers in the world
• Participation in the publication of results within the Valeo Group as well as at conferences and in relevant trade journals
• Testing the algorithms both embedded and in product environments
• Collaboration with colleagues at other VALEO locations and with customers at vehicle manufacturers
• Creation of documentation and publications
• Creation of patents

With this you inspire us:

• Completed studies or doctorate (master/diploma) in the field of computer science, physics, mathematics, robotics or comparable
• Relevant experience in the desired subject area (data analysis, statistics, validation)
• Knowledge of rapid prototyping in Python and deep learning frameworks (preferably PyTorch)
• Knowledge of software development (preferably) in C++
• Software architecture and design patterns (preferred)
• Knowledge of computer vision and point cloud processing
• Experience with Elastic Search, Docker, ROS2 is an advantage
• Good knowledge of spoken and written German and English
• Structured, analytical approach, initiative, creativity
