Job Description

  • Perform research into new vision technology, ideas, and approaches
  • Develop, benchmark, test and document the state of the art computer vision algorithms for autonomous driving applications within your assigned project team
  • Support Intellectual Property activities and generate Invention Disclosure Memos to facilitate patent applications
  • Analysis and debugging of software issues, contribute to redesign where necessary
  • Contribute to design reviews across algorithm teams
  • Consider next generation algorithms and new business opportunities
  • Develop algorithms with a view to implementing on embedded platforms
  • Adhere to VVS procedures leading to full ASPICE (ISO15504) compliance for all relevant processes
  • Represent VVS at various Industry Working Groups and at Conferences where directed
  • Support the design and implementation of in-company training sessions in your area of expertise.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with university counterparts
  • Strive to improve competencies in the field of automotive vision-based ADAS, Computer Vision and C++ skills in particular
  • Identify inefficiencies and suggest implementable improvements to current processes used in algorithm development
  • Facilitate and contribute to technical communications with relevant customers (internal + external)

Required Skills/Experience

  • BSc degree and 4+ years of work experience, or MSc degree and 2+ years of work experience, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent
  • At least 1 year experience in automotive, robotics or similar industry
  • Solid understanding of fundamental computer vision algorithms and approaches
  • Strong proficiency in C++ programming for efficient, robust, clean and well-documented code
  • Proficient in software prototyping and automation scripting (Python, Matlab, Octave)
  • Experience with computer vision libraries (e.g. OpenCV) 
  • Aptitude for mathematics (geometry, algebra, trigonometry)
  • Familiar with software development processes/models/standards
  • Proficient with SW development process (version control, code reviews)
  • Excellent English language communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong discipline for documentation (code comments, Low Level Design documentation, results presentations)

  • High level of innovation and creativity
  • Excellent attention to detail
