As a Principal Technical Program Manager focusing on AI & ML platform development initiatives, you will be in the driver’s seat for our highly visible, highly critical enterprise-level initiatives, influencing our AI/machine learning strategy and how the technology is adopted across our organization. You will be part of our Platform Services and Emerging Technologies (PSET) group, partnering closely with research, engineering, data scientists, and other cross-functional teams to create roadmaps, scope programs and align them with business priorities, define milestones and success metrics, and build scalable, secure, reliable, efficient AI/ML products and platform to achieve business outcomes. 

This role will have a cross-Autodesk focus and drives a company-wide critical initiative translating strategic direction and company-level goals into executable workstreams & programs. You would need to influence C-Staffs and partner with significant organization VPs & Chief Architects across Autodesk to make key technical decisions and resource commitments. You are expected to be the accelerating factor in realizing ADSK's ML/AI vision to establish market share and competitiveness and turn AI/ML into a core company technology that revolutionizes most of our product lines and affects all our industry verticals. Responsibilities

  • As an Enterprise Data Machine Learning leader, partner closely with Autodesk’s product, technology, and platform leaders to shape our ML platform solution strategy and operationalize it, (including Large Foundational Model efforts) by partnering with multiple stakeholders and technology leaders in determining the best technical implementation methods
  • As a Could/ML/AI technical practice owner, you will up-level the TPM team's technical skills through knowledge sharing, mentoring/coaching, and bringing in relevant and effective training
  • As as a Principal TPM, you will exhibit excellent judgment, anticipate bottlenecks, lead escalations, make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints
  • Ability to simplify the technically complex and drive well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives
  • Articulate the outcome and identify the technology, requirements, and milestones of the programs
  • Communicate progress across organizational boundaries and levels from individual contributors to senior executive
  • Define, socialize and implement organization-wide processes
  • Be an agent of change by driving relentless improvement with data and science-based, Kaizen culture

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong program management and leadership experience, Outstanding relationship-building with the ability to influence at all organizational levels
  • Previous commercial experience with artificial intelligence concepts, machine learning (building, deploying Large Language Models, Large Foundational Models, setting up cloud infrastructure and data pipelines), and familiarity with common ML libraries. You do not need to implement models from scratch, but you should be able to clearly explain concepts like supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and generative AI
  • Approximately 10 plus years of experience as a Technical Program Manager or Technical Product Manager or Software Architect or similar role, with Experience building products based on data, hypotheses, and MVPs by defining and aligning on clear requirements
  • Must have experience and expertise to recommend relevant technical solutions within AI/ML technology space, able to be a top advisor who knows the pitfalls through previous hands-on development or launched commercial offerings in this space
  • Ability to gather and analyze data and understand issues from a broad, strategic perspective
  • Embody data-driven decision-making while ensuring an inclusive and collaborative culture
  • Action biased with a focus on improving effectiveness and velocity using Agile methodologies & lean product management principles
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Looker, PowerBI, Tableau or similar), source control (e.g. GitHub), ticket management
  • Highly tuned emotional intelligence, good listener, and deep-seated empathy for teams and partners
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or other quantitative fields
  • Desire to continue to learn and challenge yourself
  • Prior development or management experience on a Machine Learning Platform in a large tech company
  • Track record of using data analytics for improving software operations and organizational efficiency
  • Possess solid technical expertise and business acumen with the ability to negotiable and influence senior leadership to deliver business outcomes

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $176,800 and $286,000. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
