We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Machine Learning team. You will be developing Intelligent Triage capabilities that help automate workflows for customers using AI models. We are looking for someone who thrives on a high degree of autonomy with provided context and is a self-starter. Working well with colleagues across functions of product, science, security, and other groups is essential in this role.

What you'll be doing

  • Delivering AI-powered capabilities to our customers at Zendesk scale
  • Working closely with data scientists and product to define the scope of features and implementation approach.
  • Working closely with scientists to automate ML processes, productionize new models and improve prediction strategies.
  • Automating the CI/CD pipelines for crucial AI-powered services.
  • Actively collaborating to evolve the workflow and processes together with members of the team.
  • Support our deployed services to ensure a high level of stability and reliability.
  • Willingness to mentor junior team members, as well as pairing with more experienced colleagues and learning from each other

What you'll be doing

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with provisioning and deploying services with a cloud provider (GCP, AWS, Azure).
  • Good proficiency in any sever-side programming language and the testing frameworks (Python, Java, Scala, Golang, Ruby).
  • Sound understanding of architecture and software design patterns for server-side domains.
  • Fundamental understanding of Machine Learning engineering or willingness to learn.
  • Collaborative and growth mindset along with the desire to share knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing and deploying cloud services in AWS
  • 2+ years of work experience in data/machine learning engineering
  • 5+ years developing server-side applications ideally in Python
  • Machine Learning pipeline automation tools

  • ML pipeline: Metaflow, AWS SageMaker, AWS Batch
  • ML models: PyTorch, TensorFlow, MLFlow
  • Storage: RDS MySQL, Redis, S3

Streams and queues: Kafka, Amazon MQ

Service deployment: Kubernetes, Spinnaker

Logging and monitoring: Datadog, Sentry
